Since I got my second monitor for Christmas, I’ve been able to get back into streaming in a big way. This break I started on four games: Far Cry 4, Skyrim, Elite: Dangerous, and now Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. My intention is to play through them to completion (where appropriate) while capturing as much of the gameplay as possible on YouTube. Where I have the time I’m planning to use my green screen, camera, and microphone to record myself as part of the videos and turn it into a show. I’m still fairly new to the whole casting scene so I’m seeing these initial videos as good practice. I’d like to get more into Twitch streaming but I’m still working out some of the logistics. With a two-year old in the house it’s not always easy to get a long enough block of time to make it worth it.
The playlist for Assassin’s Creed IV is available here.
I’ll be adding new videos to the list as I get the opportunity to record more. I am experiencing some stuttering with the video. AC4 doesn’t have a borderless window mode so I have to run it in full screen and use XSplit’s GameSource tech to capture the frames. That seems to cause some lag in most games and AC4 appears to be no exception. I’m going to run some tests and record a few benchmark videos to see if there is anything I can do to alleviate the problem for future episodes.
